Call for Papers - Health Informatics Conference (HIC 2026)

The International Conference on Health Informatics (HIC) 2026 is organized by INSTICC and is part of BIOSTEC, the 19th International Joint Conference on Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies. Registration for HIC allows free access to all other BIOSTEC conferences, which are held in conjunction with ICISSP 2026, ICPRAM 2026, and ROBOVIS 2026.

Scope

The purpose of HIC is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the specification, design, development, and application of information and communication technologies (ICT) to healthcare and medicine in general, and to the support of persons with special needs in particular. Key technologies and research areas include big data, networking, graphical interfaces, data mining, machine learning, pattern recognition, and intelligent decision support systems. The conference addresses issues such as mobility and ubiquity in healthcare systems, physiological and behavioral modeling, standardization of health records, procedures, and technologies, certification, integration, scaling-up, privacy, and security.

Keynote Speakers

HEALTHINF 2026 will feature several invited keynote speakers, who are internationally recognized experts in their areas. Their names are not yet confirmed.

Paper Submission

Authors can submit their work in the form of a complete paper or an abstract. Accepted abstracts are presented but not published in the proceedings.

Submission Types:

• Complete Papers: Can be submitted as a Regular Paper (completed and validated research) or a Position Paper (work in progress, arguable opinion, ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures, or results).
• Abstracts: For presentation only, not published in proceedings.

Submission Guidelines:

• Papers must be in English, carefully checked for grammar and spelling.
• Papers should address one or several of the conference areas or topics.
• Submissions must NOT include author's personal details, acknowledgments, or any reference that may disclose the authors' identity to facilitate double-blind paper evaluation.
• Only original papers should be submitted. Authors must adhere to INSTICC's ethical norms regarding plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
• All papers must be submitted through the online submission platform PRIMORIS.
• Follow the instructions and templates found under Guidelines and Templates.
• Authors will receive an automatic confirmation email upon successful submission.

Publications

• All accepted complete papers will be published in the conference proceedings, with an ISBN reference, on paper and digital support.
• Papers will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library.
• SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef, and each paper will be given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
• The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, DBLP, Semantic Scholar, EI, and Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
• A short list of revised and extended versions of presented papers is planned for publication with Springer in a CCIS Series book (final approval pending).
• A short list of best papers will be invited for a post-conference special issue of the Springer Nature Computer Science Journal.
