Overview

The 22nd Euro XR International Conference (EuroXR 2025) will be held in Winterthur, Switzerland, from September 3rd to 5th, 2025, at the Campus St.-Georgenplatz – ZHAW School of Management and Law. Co-organized by the European Association for eXtended Reality (EuroXR) and ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, the conference will focus on advancements in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR), featuring keynote talks, scientific and application tracks, poster and demo sessions, and presentations from European-funded XR projects.

Euro XR 2025: Call for Papers

We are pleased to announce that preparations for the 22nd EuroXR International Conference – EuroXR 2025 are underway. This year, the conference will take place in Winterthur, Switzerland, from September 3rd to 5th, 2025, at the Campus St.-Georgenplatz – ZHAW School of Management and Law.

The European Association for eXtended Reality (EuroXR) will co-organise this event with ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences. EuroXR 2025 aims to bring together leading researchers, professionals, educators, and industry experts to explore the most recent technological advancements, innovative applications, and emerging trends in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR).

Calls & Guidelines

Scientific Track

  • Description: Papers must describe novel research results.
  • Publication: Will be published in a Springer LNCS volume (Lecture Notes in Computer Science).
  • Extended Versions: Authors of top papers will have the opportunity to submit an extended version to the journal Computers & Graphics.
  • Paper Sizes: Long paper (14-20 pages in Springer format), Medium paper (8-12 pages), Short paper (4-6 pages).
  • Submission System: https://meteor.springer.com/euroxr2025 (CLOSED NOW).
  • Procedures: Two procedures are possible for submissions:
    • With Rebuttal: Submission by April 15, 2025. Includes a rebuttal phase.
    • Without Rebuttal: Submission by May 26, 2025.

Application Track

  • Description: Extended abstracts, meant to describe practical use cases of XR technologies.
  • Publication: Extended abstracts (2-4 pages) will be published in an ISBN-registered proceedings, edited by VTT, Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
  • Submission System: To be announced later.

Poster & Demo Track

  • Description: Posters may present preliminary results of research or application projects or work-in-progress. Demos may accompany any type of submission or be submitted independently.
  • Publication: Extended abstracts (2-4 pages) will be published in an ISBN-registered proceedings, edited by VTT, Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
  • Submission System: To be announced later.

  • Scientific paper submission with rebuttal procedure: April 13, 2025 → April 15, 2025
  • First notification for papers submitted with the rebuttal procedure: May 9, 2025 → May 16, 2025
  • Deadline for revised papers in the rebuttal procedure: May 16, 2025 → May 23, 2025
  • Scientific paper submission without rebuttal procedure: May 16, 2025 → May 23, 2025 → May 26, 2025
  • Final notification for all scientific papers (with or without Rebuttal): July 1, 2025 → July 4, 2025
  • Camera-ready submission of accepted Scientific papers: July 14, 2025

Submission Guidelines

  • Originality: Submissions must be original and high-quality contributions.
  • Simultaneous Submission: Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously under consideration for another conference or journal.
  • Review Process: Double-blind peer reviewing process. All submissions will be reviewed by at least three independent reviewers.
  • Anonymity: Submissions must be fully anonymous (no author names, nor affiliation, only anonymous self-references). Papers that are not anonymous will be automatically desk-rejected.
  • Formatting: Authors should consult Springer’s Instructions for Authors of Proceedings and use either the LaTeX or the Word templates provided. Springer’s proceedings LaTeX templates are also available in Overleaf.
  • Supplementary Material: Videos and other electronic supplementary material can be made available in SpringerLink.

Camera-Ready Instructions

Authors of accepted contributions will have to prepare a camera-ready file set, which includes:

  • Camera-ready file (PDF)
  • Full source files (e.g., Latex file(s) and all image files, or the full Word file)
  • Online signature of the Springer Consent-to-Publish form.

Authors will have to sign the Consent-to-Publish form once the camera-ready version is uploaded.

European XR Projects

EuroXR 2025 will feature dedicated sessions and workshops from European-funded projects, including:

  • Special Session: Extended Collaborative Telepresence – How CORTEX² and SPIRIT are Advancing Innovation in XR
  • Workshops: OPENVERSE, LUMINOUS, THEIA-XR

Topics

Topics are related to Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR), collaborative and distributed environments, mobile devices, 3D rendering issues, real-time modeling and simulation, multimodal interaction, human factor issues (user studies, presence, cognition, sickness), and applications in industry, architecture, manufacturing, medicine, training, and gaming.
