Call for Papers

The IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) 2025 is the premier international conference in the area of neural networks theory, analysis, and applications. It serves as a leading platform for researchers and practitioners to interact and disseminate knowledge in neural networks and related facets of machine learning.

IJCNN 2025 will be held in Rome, Italy, from June 30 to July 5, 2025, at the Pontifical Gregorian University. The conference offers a comprehensive technical program covering various aspects of neural networks and learning systems, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, convolutional neural networks, spiking neural networks, cognitive algorithms, and deep learning, along with a wide spectrum of applications.

Conference Theme

A special track is included dedicated to the conference theme on “Human-AI interaction in creative arts and sciences”.

Paper Submission Types

• Regular Paper:

  • Description: Original papers submitted to the main conference track and related to the IJCNN 2025 topics.
  • Length: 6 to 8 pages. 10-page papers are allowed at an additional charge of $100 per extra page.
  • Publication Type: IEEE Proceedings.
  • Presentation: Oral or Poster.

• Special Track Paper:

  • Description: Original papers on the conference theme “Human-AI interaction in creative arts and sciences”.
  • Length: 6 to 8 pages. 10-page papers are allowed at an additional charge of $100 per extra page.
  • Publication Type: IEEE Proceedings.
  • Presentation: Oral or Poster.
  • Submission Deadline: January 30, 2025.

• Special Session Paper:

  • Description: Original papers submitted to the conference special sessions.
  • Length: 6 to 8 pages. 10-page papers are allowed at an additional charge of $100 per extra page.

• Position Papers:

  • Description: Original positional papers submitted to the main conference track.
  • Length: 6 to 8 pages. 10-page papers are allowed at an additional charge of $100 per extra page.

  • Submission Deadline: February 15, 2025.

• Competition Regular Paper:

  • Description: Original papers submitted to the conference competitions (top 3 teams only +1 paper from the organizers).
  • Length: 4 to 8 pages. 10-page papers are allowed at an additional charge of $100 per extra page.
  • Publication Type: IEEE Proceedings.
  • Presentation: Oral or Poster.

• Competition Short Paper:

  • Description: Solutions and results submitted to the conference competitions.
  • Length: 2 to 4 pages.
  • Publication Type: No official publication.
  • Presentation: Poster.
  • Submission Deadline: March 1, 2025.

• Workshop Regular Paper:

  • Description: Original papers submitted to the conference workshops.
  • Length: 6 to 8 pages. 10-page papers are allowed at an additional charge of $100 per extra page.
  • Publication Type: IEEE Proceedings.
  • Presentation: Oral or Poster.
  • Submission Deadline: March 27, 2025.

• Workshop Short Paper:

  • Description: Ideas, already published works, or preliminary results submitted to the conference workshops.
  • Length: 2 to 4 pages.
  • Publication Type: No official publication.
  • Presentation: Poster.
  • Submission Deadline: March 20, 2025.

• J2C Paper:

  • Description: Papers accepted at selected journals related to Neural Networks.
  • Length: Not specified.
  • Publication Type: Poster.

Submission Guidelines

• Prospective authors are invited to submit complete papers of no more than eight (8) pages in the IEEE two-column conference proceedings format.
• Please refer to the Paper Submission Guidelines.
• All the accepted and presented papers will be published on IEEE Xplore Digital Library and indexed by Scopus.

Virtual Participation

IJCNN 2025 will offer the option for authors to present their work remotely if necessary. If you plan to present remotely, you must clearly indicate this when registering for the conference by the deadline of May 8, 2025. Remote presenters are required to submit a pre-recorded video of their presentation, which will be made available on demand to conference attendees. Please note, there will be no live presentations for remote participants. No changes to your presentation format will be accepted after the strict deadline of May 8, 2025.

AI-Generated Text Policy

The IEEE policy requires disclosure of AI-generated text in the acknowledgements section of any paper submitted to an IEEE Conference or Periodical. The sections of the paper that use AI-generated text shall have a citation to the AI system used to generate the text.
