Overview

The 35th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence (ICAT) and the 30th Eurographics Symposium on Virtual Environments (EGVE) will be held jointly as ICAT-EGVE 2025 from December 3-5, 2025, at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden. This in-person conference focuses on Virtual Environments, Telexistence, the Metaverse, and Virtual Social Interactions in VR/AR/MR/XR, featuring papers, keynote talks, posters, and demos.

Call for papers

ICAT-EGVE 2025: Call for Papers

The ICAT-EGVE 2025 conference will be held between December 3rd and December 5th, 2025, at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden.

ICAT-EGVE is a merger of the International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence (ICAT) and the Eurographics Symposium on Virtual Environments (EGVE). Together, these are two of the oldest international conferences in the world on Artificial Reality and Virtual Environments.

Topics of Interest

ICAT-EGVE 2025 seeks inspiring submissions describing research, applications, or systems in all areas of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Telexistence, and 3D User Interfaces. Specific areas include, but are not limited to:

  • 3D interaction for VR/AR/MR
  • VR/AR/MR systems and toolkits
  • User studies and evaluation for VR/AR/MR
  • Telexistence, Telepresence and Teleimmersion
  • Haptics, audio, and other non-visual modalities
  • Serious games and edutainment using VR/AR/MR
  • Presence, cognition, perception, and embodiment in VR/AR/MR
  • Novel devices (both input and output) for VR/AR/MR, and haptics
  • Multi-user and distributed VR/AR/MR, Tele-immersion and Telepresence
  • Immersive projection technologies and other advanced display technologies

Submissions in other related areas are welcome too.

Submission Guidelines

  • Full papers: Must not exceed eight (8) pages in length (excluding references).
  • Short papers: Must not exceed four (4) pages in length (excluding references).
  • All papers must be in English and formatted using the Eurographics format.

  • ICAT-EGVE uses a double-blind review process. Submissions should not contain information that unnecessarily identifies the authors or their institutions.
  • Authors are encouraged to submit videos to aid the program committee in the review of their submissions.
  • All submissions must be made electronically as PDF.

Submissions must be original, unpublished work and not under concurrent submission to other venues.

Review and Publication

  • All accepted Papers/Posters/Demos will be published in the Eurographics Digital Library and presented interactively at the conference.
  • Submissions undergo a double-blind review process.
  • The camera-ready version of accepted submissions will be included in the electronic proceedings upon addressing reviewer comments.
  • A selection of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version to a Special Section in the Computers & Graphics journal.
