Overview

The 2026 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC) is the flagship conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. It provides an international forum for researchers, educators, and practitioners to learn, share knowledge, report recent innovations and developments, and exchange ideas in systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and cybernetics. The theme is Human-Centric Intelligence: Shaping the Digital Future. Authors must follow the IEEE conference written paper format and submit drafts for review before the submission deadlines via the PaperCept system. IEEE requirements apply for PDFs in IEEE Xplore; use IEEE Word or LaTeX templates with letter page size. Original work only; CrossCheck screening is used. The conference uses single-blind review. Accepted papers must be presented at the conference (by authors or a representative) or they will not appear in the proceedings. Accepted and presented papers are copyrighted to IEEE and published in IEEE Xplore and submitted to Scopus and Ei Compendex. Regular papers: up to 6 pages with optional overlength pages for a fee; reviewed by at least two referees. Special Sessions, Work-in-Progress and Industrial Papers, and Workshop papers are also described on the call-for-papers page with distinct page limits and review processes. Contributions are invited across Cybernetics, Human-Machine Systems, and Systems Science & Engineering, including machine learning, robotics, intelligent systems, and related areas.
