Übersicht

The International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA) 2025, the 34th edition, will be held from Wednesday, June 25 to Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Trondheim, Norway, co-located with FSE 2025. ISSTA is a leading research symposium for academics, industrial researchers, and practitioners to exchange new ideas, problems, and experiences in software testing and analysis.

Call for Papers

ISSTA 2025: Call for Papers

The ACM SIGSOFT International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA) 2025 invites high-quality submissions, from both industry and academia, describing original and unpublished results of theoretical, empirical, conceptual, and experimental research on software testing and analysis.

Submission Types

ISSTA invites three kinds of submissions:

  1. Research Papers: Describing original contributions in testing or analysis of computer software. Papers describing original theoretical or empirical research, new techniques, methods for emerging systems, in-depth case studies, infrastructures of testing and analysis, or tools are welcome.
  2. Experience Papers: Describing a significant experience in applying software testing and analysis methods or tools, with carefully identified and discussed lessons learned for the community.
  3. Replicability Studies: Encouraging the replication of results from previous papers, going beyond simple re-implementation. These studies should clearly describe their purpose and value beyond the original result, and will be evaluated based on depth and breadth of experiments, clarity of writing, appropriateness of conclusions, actionable insights, and availability of artefacts.

Publication

NEW THIS YEAR: The conference proceedings will be published in the Proceedings of the ACM on Software Engineering (PACMSE), Issue: ISSTA 2025.

Submission Guidelines

  • Originality: Submissions must be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • Page Limits:
    • Research Papers, Experience Papers, and Replicability Studies: Maximum 18 pages for text and figures, plus 4 pages for references.
  • Formatting: Use the ACM SIG Proceedings templates:
    • LaTeX: Use \documentclass[acmsmall,screen,review,anonymous]{acmart}.
    • Word (Mac/Windows)
  • Layout: Single-column page layout.
  • Submission Site: Papers must be submitted electronically through the ISSTA 2025 submission site.
  • Categorization: Experience papers and replicability studies should clearly specify their category in the paper title upon submission (e.g., "[TITLE](Experience Paper)").

Review Process

  • Each submission will be reviewed by at least three members of the program committee.
  • Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, importance, soundness, evaluation, presentation quality, comparison to related work, and verifiability/transparency.
  • Final decisions are made by the program committee as a whole.

Double-Anonymous Reviewing

ISSTA 2025 will conduct double-anonymous reviewing. Authors must ensure their submissions do not reveal their identity, including names, affiliations, and self-citations (use third person for referring to own work).

Open Science Policy and Data Availability

ISSTA adopts an open science policy to foster transparency, reproducibility, and replicability.

  • Authors are encouraged to disclose anonymized and curated data and/or source code via supplemental material or a link to a repository.
  • At least one reviewer will check provided data.
  • Sharing data is not mandatory but will inform the committee's decision.
  • Papers must include a section named "Data Availability" after the Conclusion, stating the availability (or lack thereof) of data and code.
