ACL 2025: Call for Main Conference Papers

The 63rd Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2025) will take place in Vienna, Austria, from July 27 to August 1st, 2025.

ACL 2025 invites the submission of long and short papers featuring substantial, original, and unpublished research in all aspects of Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. Papers may contribute negative findings, survey an area, announce the creation of a new resource, argue a position, report novel linguistic insights derived using existing computational techniques, and reproduce, or fail to reproduce, previous results.

Special Theme: Generalization of NLP Models

ACL 2025 will have a special theme focusing on "Generalization of NLP Models." This theme track invites empirical and theoretical research, position papers, and survey papers reflecting on how to enhance generalization across various dimensions (compositional, structural, cross-task, cross-lingual, cross-domain, and robustness), factors affecting generalization, methods for evaluation, and the limitations of Large Language Models (LLMs) in this regard.

Two-Stage Review Process

ACL 2025 utilizes the ACL Rolling Review (ARR) system for reviewing. The process involves two steps:

  1. Submission to ARR: Authors submit articles to ARR, where they receive reviews and meta-reviews.
  2. Commitment to ACL 2025: Authors then commit their reviewed articles to ACL 2025 via the conference commitment site.

Submission Topics

Relevant topics for the conference include, but are not limited to:

  • Computational Social Science and Cultural Analytics
