KEOD 2025: Call for Papers

The International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development (KEOD) 2025 is a key event focusing on the methodologies and technologies related to Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development. It serves as a meeting point for researchers and practitioners interested in exploring traditional and cutting-edge topics in the field.

Conference Details

• Dates: October 22-24, 2025
• Venue: Barceló Marbella hotel, Costa del Sol, Spain.
• Participation: Hybrid support is available, allowing remote presentation for speakers unable to travel.
• Affiliation: KEOD is part of IC3K, the 17th International Joint Conference on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management, held in conjunction with other conferences including ICINCO, WEBIST, IN4PL, IJCCI, and CoopIS.

Scope

Knowledge Engineering (KE) encompasses the technical, scientific, and social aspects of building, maintaining, and utilizing knowledge-based systems, drawing on AI, databases, expert systems, and cognitive science. Recent advancements include Large Language Models (LLMs) for automated ontology generation and Low-code/No-code Platforms for greater accessibility.

Ontology Development (OD) focuses on creating reusable semantic structures essential for applications like knowledge graphs, digital twins, explainable AI (XAI), cybersecurity, and IoT interoperability. Ontologies are crucial for ethical AI development, mitigating bias, and enhancing transparency.

KEOD aims to foster innovation in KE and OD, exploring topics such as LLM-based Ontology Development, Ontology-driven Digital Twins, and Ontology-enhanced Low-code Platforms.

Paper Submission

Authors can submit either a complete paper or an abstract. Accepted abstracts are presented but not published in the conference proceedings.

• Complete Papers: Can be submitted as a Regular Paper (completed and validated research) or a Position Paper (short report of work in progress or an arguable opinion).
• Language: English, checked for grammar and spelling.
• Anonymity: Papers must be anonymous for double-blind evaluation, excluding author details, acknowledgments, and identifying references.
• Originality: Submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere. Plagiarism will lead to rejection.
• Platform: Submit through the online submission platform PRIMORIS.
• Format: Follow the instructions and templates available under Guidelines and Templates.

Publications

• All accepted complete papers will be published in the conference proceedings with an ISBN reference and on digital support.
• Papers are given a DOI and submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, DBLP, Semantic Scholar, EI, and Web of Science/Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
• A short list of best papers will be invited for a post-conference special issue of the Springer Nature Computer Science Journal.
• Revised and extended versions of presented papers will be published with Springer in a CCIS Series book.
