概要
The EPIA Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a well-established European conference dedicated to promoting research in all areas of AI, spanning theoretical foundations, methodological advances, and real-world applications. The conference fosters scientific exchange among researchers, engineers, and practitioners working in AI and related disciplines. The 25th edition, EPIA 2026, will take place in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, from September 2 to 4, 2026. As in previous editions, the conference is organized under the patronage of the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA). EPIA 2026 will feature the following thematic tracks, covering a broad spectrum of AI topics: AI for Architecture, Engineering and Conservation (AI4AEC), Ambient Intelligence and Affective Environments (AmIA Environments), Artificial Intelligence and Law (AIL), Artificial Intelligence for Industry and Society (AI4IS), Artificial Intelligence for Time-dependent Data (AITD), Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM), Artificial Intelligence in Transportation Systems (AITS), Artificial Intelligence: Theory, Methods, and Applications (AITMA), Ethics and Responsibility in AI (ERAI), Generative and Agentic Artificial Intelligence (GAAI), Human-Centered AI (HCAI), Knowledge Discovery and Business Intelligence (KDBI), Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR), Natural Language Processing, Text Mining and Applications (NLP-TeMA), Sustainable and Neuromorphic AI (SNAI). Papers must be submitted in PDF format via the EPIA 2026 EasyChair submission page. Authors should select the thematic track most appropriate for their submission. Papers may be reassigned to a different track at the discretion of the Program Chairs if deemed more suitable. All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process and will be reviewed by at least three members of the EPIA Program Committee. Authors are responsible for anonymizing their submissions by removing names, affiliations, and any other identifying information, and for taking reasonable steps to preserve anonymity throughout the review process. Papers must follow the Springer LNAI format and may not exceed 12 pages. Authors should also take into account any additional track-specific submission requirements. Authors are encouraged to consult Springer’s author guidelines when preparing their manuscripts. Springer also encourages authors to include their ORCID identifiers in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each accepted paper, acting on behalf of all co-authors, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing this form must match the corresponding author identified in the paper. Once the final files have been submitted to Springer, changes to authorship will not be permitted. EPIA 2026 will not accept any paper that, at the time of submission, is under review for, has already been published in, or has already been accepted for publication in a journal or another venue with formally published proceedings. During the EPIA 2026 review period, authors may not submit the same work to a journal or another venue with formally published proceedings. Generative AI tools do not qualify for authorship of papers submitted to EPIA 2026. Authors who use large language models or other generative AI tools at any stage of the writing process remain fully responsible for the entire content of the submission, including its correctness, originality, and compliance with plagiarism policies. The use of AI-generated text as part of the paper’s methodology or experimental analysis is permitted, provided that it is clearly documented and appropriately described in the paper. At least one co-author of each accepted paper must register for EPIA 2026 by the early registration deadline. Each accepted paper must be presented in person by one of its authors. Accepted and presented papers will be included in the conference proceedings, published in Springer’s LNAI – Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series. EPIA proceedings are indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, DBLP, and Google Scholar.
