The 10th International Conference on Computing and Informatics (ICOCI X), themed "Beyond Binary: AI, Humanity, and The Dawn of IR 5.0", will be held from 25-27 June 2025 at the Santika Dyandra Hotel & Convention in Medan, Indonesia. Organized by the School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia, the conference serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners to share advancements in computing and informatics, focusing on the convergence of AI and human intelligence in the Fifth Industrial Revolution.

Call for Papers

The 10th International Conference on Computing and Informatics (ICOCI 2025), themed "Beyond Binary: AI, Humanity, and The Dawn of IR 5.0", will be held from 25 - 27 June 2025 at the Santika Dyandra Hotel & Convention, Medan, INDONESIA.

ICOCI 2025 is organized by the School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and provides a distinguished platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and industry professionals to engage in discussions on cutting-edge research and innovations in computing and informatics.

Topics of Interest

ICOCI 2025 invites submissions in the field of computing that foster the theme "Beyond Binary: AI, Humanity, and The Dawn of IR 5.0". Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Cybersecurity & Privacy
  • Responsible AI and AI governance

Submission Guidelines

Format for paper submission

  • Authors must prepare manuscripts using Microsoft Word.
  • Manuscripts should be between 4,000 to 6,000 words or a minimum of 12 pages, not exceeding 14 pages.
  • Strictly follow the ICOCI2025 Template.

Double-Blind Review Process

  • All submissions are subjected to a double-blind review process.
  • Authors must submit TWO (2) manuscript files:
    1. A manuscript with complete authors’ names and affiliations, and acknowledgements.
    2. A manuscript WITHOUT authors’ names, affiliations, and acknowledgements for the double-blind review process.
  • Guidelines for anonymizing your paper:
    • Do not put author details on the front page.
    • Avoid referring to your university, campus, or faculty by name; use generalities.
    • Avoid statements like 'In the previous work, we...'.
    • Omit the acknowledgment section (can be added in the final version).
  • Submissions containing identifying information will be returned for modification.

Pre-review checklist

Ensure your manuscript fulfills the following requirements:

  1. Title – relates to the conference theme.
  2. Structures – Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Related Work, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.
  3. Pages – between 12 to 14.
  4. Figures, diagrams, charts, tables – visible, readable, clear, and comply to template style.
  5. Language & mechanics.
  6. Acknowledgement – include funding agencies (if any).
  7. Submit TWO (2) versions of files: (1) With author names and affiliations, (2) Without author names and affiliations.

  • Short papers (work in progress): (up to 4 pages, oral presentation) Published in conference proceedings, digital library, sent for indexing.
  • Ideas contributions: (2 pages, oral presentation) Published in conference proceedings, digital library, sent for indexing.
  • Extended abstracts: (2 pages, oral presentation) Published in conference proceedings, digital library, sent for indexing.
  • Posters (paper-based): (2 pages, oral presentation) Published in conference proceedings, digital library, sent for indexing.
  • Posters (slide-based, only): (oral presentation) Slide-deck posted on www.iaria.org.
  • Presentations (slide-based, only): (oral presentation) Slide-deck posted on www.iaria.org.
  • Demos: (2 pages) Posted on www.iaria.org.

Publication

All accepted papers will be published in one of the following SCOPUS-indexed publications:

  • Journal of Information and Communication Technology (JICT)

  • Book Series: From Smart Cities to The Metaverse (Publisher: Taylor & Francis)

  • Authors must make the payment by 20th May 2025. Failure to do so may result in the article not being published in the proceedings.
  • Standard registration fees (presenters) include conference admission, e-proceedings, and e-program book.
  • Each presenter (author) is allowed to register for only ONE additional paper and will receive only one set of conference materials.
  • Accommodation fee is not included.
  • There will be no refund for withdrawal made after 20th May 2025. A management fee of 6% from the total fee will be charged for refund made before or by 20th May 2025.

How to pay

  • Payment Evidence: Please forward a scanned copy of the bank slip/telegraphic transfer receipt to ICOCI 2025 Secretariat (icoci@uum.edu.my and cc to anizamd@uum.edu.my). Include participant's name, date and time of transfer, and country & city of origin.
  • Online Payment: Use the UUM Online Payment System. Follow the instructions provided.

  • Payment: Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
