Resumen General

The International Conference on Learning Analytics and Knowledge (LAK26) will be held in Bergen, Norway, from April 27 to May 1, 2026. Organized by the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) in collaboration with the University of Bergen, the conference's theme is "Learning Analytics and AI Synergy," focusing on the integration and impact of artificial intelligence in learning contexts. LAK26: Call for Papers

The International Conference on Learning Analytics and Knowledge (LAK26) will take place in-person in Bergen, Norway, from April 27 to May 1, 2026.

LAK26 is organized by the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) in collaboration with the University of Bergen.

Conference Theme: Learning Analytics and AI Synergy

This year's conference theme, "Learning Analytics and AI Synergy," explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into diverse learning contexts and its impact on teaching and learning. We seek contributions that examine how AI can enhance the learning analytics cycle and how LA can augment AI research and practice in education.

Topics of Interest

We welcome submissions that address a wide range of topics in learning analytics, including but not limited to:

Learning Analytics and AI Synergy:

  • Understanding learning and teaching with AI.
  • AI-supported educational decision-making.
  • Using AI to empower the learning analytics process.
  • Amplifying real-time learning analytics.
  • Scaling learning analytics interventions through AI.
  • Expanding theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches.
  • Ensuring ethical and responsible AI use in education.

Usual Topics of Interest:

  • Tracing Learning & Teaching: Finding evidence of learning, assessing student learning, analytical and methodological approaches, technological infrastructures for data storage and sharing.
  • Understanding Learning & Teaching: Data-informed learning theories, insights into specific learning processes, learning and teaching modeling, systematic and meta-reviews.
  • Impacting Learning & Teaching: Human-centered design processes, providing decision support and feedback, data-informed decision-making, personalized and adaptive learning, practical evaluations of learning analytics efforts.
  • Implementing Change in Learning & Teaching: Ethical issues around learning analytics, equity, fairness, and transparency in learning analytics, learning analytics adoption, learning analytics strategies for scalability, strategic planning of learning & teaching.

Submission Tracks

  1. Research Track: Focuses on rigorous reports of learning analytics research studies.
    • Full research papers: Up to 16 pages (ACM 1-column format). Must include a substantial conceptual, technical, or empirical contribution with clear scope and description.
    • Short research papers: Up to 10 pages (ACM 1-column format). Can address ongoing work with theoretical underpinning, initial proposals, or preliminary results.
  2. Practitioner Track: Shares real-world learning analytics implementations. Submissions should reflect on context, purpose, implementation, outcomes, impacts, and lessons learned.
    • Practitioner Report: 2-4 page document using the SoLAR companion proceedings template.
  3. Posters & Demos: For concise reports of recent findings or innovative work not ready for full papers, or descriptions of practical projects.
    • Posters: 3 pages using the SoLAR companion proceedings template.
    • Interactive demos: 200 words abstract + 5 min video.
  4. Workshops & Tutorials Track (Pre-Conference): For community building, idea generation, and education on specific topics.
    • Workshops: 4 pages using the SoLAR companion proceedings template.
    • Tutorials: 4 pages using the SoLAR companion proceedings template.
  5. Leadership Academy (Pre-Conference)
  6. Doctoral Consortium (Pre-Conference)

Review Process

LAK26 will use a double-blind peer review process for all submissions except demos, leadership academy, and the doctoral consortium.

A rebuttal phase will be available for full and short research papers.
