The conference theme is 'Architecting for the Next Generation of Intelligent Systems' and it serves as a premier event for software architecture researchers and practitioners.
Call for Papers: ICSA 2025
The IEEE International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA) is the premier event for software architecture, component-based software engineering, and quality aspects of complex software systems. ICSA 2025, the 22nd edition, will take place in Odense, Denmark, from March 31 to April 4, 2025.
Theme: Architecting for the Next Generation of Intelligent Systems
ICSA 2025 invites innovative contributions that explore the opportunities and challenges presented by the rapid development and integration of advanced AI technologies. We seek papers on new methodologies, tools, and best practices for integrating AI capabilities into software architecture, as well as case studies on their practical implications.
Tracks
ICSA 2025 features multiple tracks to cater to diverse interests:
- Research Papers: Original and significant results in software architecture.
- Software Architecture in Practice: Contributions focusing on real-world applications and challenges.
- New and Emerging Ideas: Proposals for novel concepts and future research directions.
- Artifacts Evaluation Track: Evaluation of research artifacts supporting software architecture research.
- Early Career Track: Contributions from emerging researchers in the field.
- Journal First: Recent journal publications relevant to software architecture.
- Poster Track: Presentations of ongoing research and work in progress.
- Tutorials/Tech Briefings: Educational sessions on specific software architecture topics.
- Workshops: Focused discussions on specialized areas within software architecture.
- Working Sessions: Interactive sessions for practitioners and researchers to collaborate.
Important Dates (for Research Papers)
- Abstract Submission: November 8th, 2024 (firm)
- Full Papers Submission: November 15th, 2024 (firm)
- Notification of Acceptance: December 15th, 2024
- Camera-ready Due: January 27th, 2025
(Note: Deadlines may differ for other tracks. Please refer to the conference website for specific track deadlines.)
Submission Guidelines
- Technical Research Papers: Submissions will be evaluated based on novelty, soundness, significance/relevance, open science principles, and presentation quality. Maximum length is 10 pages for the main text (including figures, tables, appendices) with two additional pages permitted for references only.
- Review Process: ICSA 2025 employs a double-blind review process for technical research papers. Submissions must be anonymized to ensure reviewer confidentiality.
- Open Science: Authors are encouraged to follow principles of transparency, reproducibility, and replicability by disclosing data and open-source artifacts. Sharing research artifacts is desired but not mandatory.
- Submission Portal: All submissions must be made electronically via the EasyChair submission system.
- Formatting: Submissions must conform to the IEEE paper formatting instructions and IEEE Guidelines for Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Generated Text.
- Originality: Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
Publication
All accepted technical research papers will be published in the ICSA 2025 main proceedings and indexed in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Short papers and poster summaries will be published in the ICSA 2025 companion proceedings.
Presentation Requirement
At least one author of each accepted contribution is required to register and present the work in person at the conference.
Invited Submissions
Authors of distinguished papers will be invited to submit revised and extended versions to a Special Issue of ACM Transactions on Autonomous and Adaptive Systems (TAAS).
Track Chairs
- Research Track Chairs: Jan Bosch (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden), Raffaela Mirandola (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany)
